THE SPACE WITHIN
Your well being is important
Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, or major life changes? Are you grappling with the big questions like who am I and where do I fit in? I want to hear from you. I counsel adults. Women, both cis and transgendered, struggling with role identity and hormonal issues are a particular interest of mine. Sometimes people just need a little extra help to cope with many of life’s challenges. I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
Between stimulus and response there is a space. Â In that space there is our power to choose our response. Â In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

What to expect at your first visit . . .
Maybe you feel anxious, overwhelmed, sad or unsure about the future of a relationship, or think that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In our sessions, transformation is encouraged. By helping you to listen to your inner voice, we work together to identify your issues and come up with coping strategies that help you get back on track and feeling better. Once we've made an appointment to see each other, I will send you a link to my secure HIPPA compliant web portal where you will be asked to fill out some basic paperwork.
A little about me . . .
Many of you may already know . . . seeking therapy can be a daunting task and finding the right fit with a therapist is arguably the most important element. Before going into private practice, I studied pre-med at University of Vermont and worked at the Mind Body Medicine Clinic. I worked as a research assistant and did studies on music's effect on the brain as well as CBT's effect on chronic pain. I was also a crisis clinician for two years. I loved both of these jobs and learned so much from my clients. I graduated from Middlebury College with a degree in English and Studio Art with a focus on Women's Studies and I received my Masters in Counseling from Northern Vermont Uni. My theoretical orientation is existential/ feminist. In addition, I have a strong interest in somatic psychology and psychodynamic issues in trauma and attachment. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor. I treat adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression and general role identity confusion. Another particular interest of mine is women's health. specifically hormonal issues, people going through transitions as well as artists' and caregivers' unique needs. My aim is to create a safe space for you to explore your issues and connect to your authentic self. Empathic listening and helping clients develop the tools they need to cope with all of life’s challenges, is my goal. As a former touring musician of twenty years, life-long artist and later in life mom, I feel I bring a unique perspective to our work together.
